MORRISTOWN, NJ — The deep freeze is back and don’t expect it to warm up until the beginning of next week.

The National Weather Service is anticipating record-breaking cold temperature, particularly for Saturday and Saturday night. By Sunday night, the persistence of subfreezing temperatures that began just after Christmas will be the longest such stretch for New Jersey dating back to February 1979.

Temperatures are expected to rise above freezing on Monday, January 8, but also bring the chance of snow.
