MADISON, NJ - What is arguably Madison's largest event of the year, Bottle Hill Day held Saturday October 3 from 10a.m. 4p.m. is yet again bigger and better.
The days events begin with the car show at 9a.m. located at the ambulatory parking lots on the corner of Kings Road and Prospect Avenue, sponsored by the Madison Area Chamber Of Commerce.
Around town there is a line up of musical treats, outdoor dining, street vendors and family fun.
This year there will be a rock climbing wall, a petting zoo and four musical stages, beer garden and inflatables on Central Avenue.
A key difference this year is the expansion of Bottle Hill Day to the other side of the tracks. Some events, including the beer garden which also features extended hours to 7p.m. this year, are all located in the Hartley Dodge building area on Kings Road.
"We felt moving things around and expanding this years offerings to a broader area of town would help attract more people to different venues for events," said Lisa Ellis, of the Madison Downtown Development Commission.
Bottle Hill Day attracts thousands of people from all over the area to Madison's downtown district. Hundreds of street vendors line the main downtown area and the downtown turns into a huge street festival.
Expect traffic delays and detours around the center of town. The major road closures are Kings Road, between Prospect Avenue and Green Avenue, Central Avenue and Waverly Place.
Bottle Hill Day is celebrated rain or shine.
