MADISON, NJ -  Marvin J. Mixson, 37 of Newark, has been arrested on suspicion of burglary, announced Madison Police Lieutenant John R. Miscia.

On May 28 at approximately 11:50pm, a car owner called police and reported a male dressed in dark clothing burglarizing their vehicle, stated police.  According to reports, Patrolman Michael Clancy arrived at Seaman Street and observed Mixson peering into an additional parked vehicle. Mixson ran when he saw police and didn't listen when police commanded him to stop, said police.

After a brief foot chase, Mixon was apprehended by officers and found to be in possession of a black bag containing approximately $1000.00 of cash and various items. The items found in his possession belonged to a Madison victim, said police.

Mixon was charged with 3 rd degree burglary, 3 rd degree theft, and Obstructing the Administration of Law (D.P. Offense). He is now being lodged in the Morris County Jail awaiting an appearance in Morris County Superior Court. 

The Morris County Sheriff's Department Crime Scene Unit and the Florham Park Police Department assisted with the investigation.
