SUMMIT, NJ - More than 45,000,000 Americans struggle just to put food on the table. Soup Kitchen 411, a newly-formed non-profit, is aiming to stamp out hunger because the organization and its supporters believe the problem is 100% solvable.
Soup Kitchen 411 is a web-based portal containing a national directory of information and links with descriptive information for soup kitchens and food pantries. Their goal is to connect those willing to help with the front line hunger relief organizations in their communities.
To cook up awareness, and to raise funds for the organization, Soup Kitchen 411 is throwing a launch party -- dubbed a "Celebrity Chef Showdown" -- featuring Kevin Des Chenes and Jumoke Jackson, two celebrity chefs, October 6 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Summit,
Des Chenes has over 20 years of experience in the Hospitality industry. He is the 2015 winner of "Top Celebrity Chef Showdown," has been a Chef Expert for Gordon Ramsey, and appeared as a Featured Chef on Food Network's Chef Wanted & Beat Bobby Flay as well as the nationally syndicated Better Show, CT Style, Better CT, Fox Morning Show & The Rhode Show.
Jackson is a successful private chef based in Washington, DC, who has created his own personal style by mixing his love of food with that of techniques from some of the best chefs in the country and beyond. In his short culinary career he has been featured on Neighborhood Chef, ABC’s The Chew and is a regular food expert on the national show Fox and Friend’s Morning Show. His accomplishments include “Crowd Favorite” at The Travel Channel’s Fiery Foods Challenge and winner of the District of Columbia local competition of “Top Chef” for Love Night Club. He was also a competitor on Beat Bobby Flay and Cutthroat Kitchen airing on Food Network.
