MORRIS PLAINS, NJ - Volunteers are important to most organizations. At Furnishing Solutions, the volunteers are the heart of this non-profit which serves families and individuals in the Morris County Area. Furnishing Solutions offers unique furniture, housewares and clothing that features an eclectic mix of gently-used items. All of the items in the store are donated and the majority of the staff are volunteers.
Furnishing Solutions has recognized Connie Tronio as "Volunteer of the Month" for her dedication in bringing management ideas, tips, connections, leads, and resources to the organization. Having been a teacher for 39 years and a volunteer at Homeless Solutions for 20, Tronio has spent the majority of her adult life volunteering and giving back to her community.
"I have been involved with Homeless Solutions for many years and always felt proud to tell people about the good work being done there to benefit the homeless," said Tronio. "It was naturally easy for me to begin telling co-workers and church friends about Furnishing Solutions when I began volunteering here."
"The people who volunteer here make it so much fun to be here. The atmosphere is friendly and energetic. It is also inspiring. The way that things are displayed and merchandised inspires me to be more creative and see the potential in gently used items. More often than not someone I know is looking for something, so I mention that FS has a wide selection of furniture, home décor, accessories, and women’s’ clothing and may have just what they are looking for. Other times, a friend or acquaintance needs to remove an item from their home, so I recommend FS as an easy and beneficial donation location for that situation".
