DENVILLE - Saying they are "fun, friendly, hard-working" and a number of other good things, the Mayo Performing Arts Center on Wednesday named two Denville residents its volunteers of the year.
The residents, Bob and Karen Terlizzi, have volunteered at the Morristown-based performing arts facility for a decade, said Mayor Performing Arts Center (MPAC) general manager Ed Kirchdoerffer in a statement. He said the Terlizzis have worked at more than 75 MPAC events per season in recent years.
Erin Pach, MPAC's senior house manager and volunteer program manager, also praised the couple. "Bob and Karen exemplify what we look for in our volunteers," she said. "They are fun, friendly, hard-working, dedicated and up for any challenge. They best represent the professionalism put forth in being a volunteer at MPAC."
Pach said the arts center, which has been giving the volunteer of the year awards for 10 years, is "over-joyed to honor the Terlizzis for their contributions to the volunteer family at MPAC."
Volunteers at the South Street facility perform a range of functions, said Kirchdoerffer. "From assisting in the theater's Front of House before, during or after a performance to working with the administrative staff, volunteers participate in all areas of theater life," he said. "The theater has over 120 volunteers on an annual basis."
