Sochi Dogs Rescue Founder Vlada Provotorova to Reunite with Russian Dogs She Saved, Meet Their American Families
Morristown, NJ, - Sochi Dogs Rescue will host a picnic and doggie meet-up on Saturday, Oct 7 from 12:30 – 4:30 PM at the dog park in Lewis Morris Park featuring a very special visitor from Russia, its founder Vlada Provotorova.
This occasion will be the first time that Provotorova will have the opportunity to meet the American families who adopted the “street” dogs she saves in Sochi Russia, and give her famous hugs and kisses to her old canine friends who once resided in the Sochi shelter.
With 250 Sochi Dogs adopted to families in the United States and Canada, thanks to the hard work and coordination of Morristown residents and Sochi Dog Co-founders, and mother/daughter team, Tanya and Anna Umansky, there will be plenty to celebrate.
“This is Vlada’s first trip to the United States since we started Sochi Dogs Rescue in 2014,” said Tanya Umansky. “Our Sochi Dog families are very excited to meet her, thank her, and to have their dogs reunited with shelter ‘friends’ and even their parents and littermates.”
Sochi Adopters will be attending from all over NJ, as well as from Pennsylvania and New York, and they are eager to meet each other in person.
“When you begin the process of adopting a Sochi Dog you become part of this wonderful community that manifests itself in a private Facebook Group called ‘Sochi Dogs Happily Ever After’,” says Sochi Dog Adopter Wendy Gottsegen. “We share EVERYTHING – from the funny, to the gross, to issues we have integrating our dogs into family life. I can’t wait to meet these dogs and these people!”
Adopting a shelter or street dog is a big responsibility, and many Morristown area adopters have sought training advice from Camp Bow Wow in Morristown. Trainer Chis XXXX from Camp Bow Wow will be there give advice and training tips.
All dog-lovers are invited to come to the Sochi Dog celebration, to learn more about the organization and to learn about the dogs that are currently available for adoption.
