The quarterback situation at the New York Jets has been a disaster back to Sanchez, Vick, way back, the this, the that, and now this.

Let's face it, the problem starts at the top of the organization. Way at the top. The New York Jets dragged the Ryan Fitzpatrick negotiations through the mud and prevented him from throwing the ball with the team for months. Geno Smith practiced with a team who's head was in the game but who's heart was with Fitzpatrick. None of this entire situation was fair to Geno Smith or Ryan Fitzpatrick.

On Wednesday, October 19th, Head Coach Todd Bowles was asked about making the change to Geno Smith as the starter against Baltimore. Bowles replied "I felt like it was time for a change. We had six games where we didn't play well in five of them. The quarterback is ultimately responsible..." He was then asked if his decision was influenced by someone or if it was strictly his call. He answered "This was strictly my call."

I'm not too sure if I believe all that.

Fast forward to this past Sunday. Geno Smith started the first two quarters against the Ravens, finishing four-of-eight for 95 yards and one touchdown.

Eeeny, meeny, miny, moe, a torn ACL brings a new side show.

Ryan Fitzpatrick replaced Smith who left the game. Fitzpatrick completed a 13-yard touchdown to Matt Forte at the end of the first half, his career passing touchdown total now 160 with that completion. He is now tied with QB Joe Theismann for 73rd all time touchdown passes.

Then, that "bus" appeared at the post-game press conference and Fitzpatrick threw a few select people under it. I can understand how he feels and I think there are a lot of Jets fans who feel the same. Did you see Monday's New York Post front and back cover ? It is a quarterback mess. It almost overshadowed the Jets win against the Ravens 24-16.

On Monday, Todd Bowles was asked if he needs to have a discussion with Fitzpatrick after his comments and Bowles replied "I'm sure we'll have our discussion and we have our own things that we handle in house, so that will be taken care of."

WHAT ?? What was that he just said ? The New York Jets are going to punish Ryan Fitzpatrick again for getting real ?

Eeeny, meeny, miny, moe, the quarterback shuffle has got to go.
