MORRISTOWN, NJ – Family Promise of Morris County, an affiliate of Family Promise is proud to participate in a nationwide effort to help homeless children and families achieve sustainable independence. Family Promise Week has been designated as Sunday October 12th through Sunday October 19th.

This week will serve as an opportunity for the community to become more aware of the crisis of family homelessness in Morris County.

Since 1986, Family Promise has "helped more than 600,000 people with housing, case management and other services.

Family Promise Week will be celebrated nationwide and in the 185 communities where there is a Family Promise Affiliate.

The program brings together houses of worship to provide temporary homes, facilities to provide space during the day for case management and most importantly volunteer who share their time supporting families and helping them turn their lives around.

Family Promise of Morris County has served approximately 5,200 people since opening its doors and over 57 percent of those are children.

26% of the households in Morris County are either on the financial brink or in poverty
