The organization is committed to helping any Morris County family have access to clean and safe shelter, and responsive and compassionate support that will provide a path to independence and self-sufficiency.

“It was particularly meaningful that Family Promise opened the new Drop-In Center during the holiday season, when the issues of hunger and homeless especially resonate with all Morris county residents, and our attention is more focused on the neediest persons in our community,’’ said Freeholder Hank Lyon, who is the county governing board’s liaison on human services issues.

The Morris County Board of Freeholders has issued a resolution of congratulations and support to Family Promise of Morris County, a non-profit agency dedicated to helping the county’s homeless population.

“The county freeholders, on behalf of all county residents, extend our support to these dedicated members of our county for their efforts to improve the quality of life for homeless residents, to help provide them with the basic necessities of life, give them a measure of comfort and self-respect, while helping lead them back to self-sufficiency,’’ said Freeholder DeFillippo.

“We are excited to be able to expand services for the chronically homeless in our community and look forward to building local partnerships with others who share our mission of helping the homeless,’’ said Family Promise Executive Director Joann Bjornson.
