MORRISTOWN, NJ- Morristown High School students and their parents are invited to a free, one hour workshop which promotes driving safely, and hopes to change the way you drive forever. The program entitled, “Save Your Teen Driver”, isn’t another teen driving lecture. It is an actual professional training session.
During the session, parents and teens will take an interactive, online evaluation that will test drivers in the 6 key areas of driving. During the fun and effective 20 minute evaluation, drivers learn their driving score as well as their risk of causing a crash.
According to the Education Association of Morristown (TEAM) which is co-sponsoring the event, car crashes are the number 1 killer of 15 – 20 year olds in America. That is more than guns, alcohol and drugs combined. In 2014, over 33,000 teenage drivers were involved in car crashes in New Jersey, stated the association. TEAM has partnered with Save Your Teen Driver, LLC to change the way young drivers are trained to drive. Both groups believe that this one hour event will completely change the way you think about driving.
The program will take place in the Morristown High School Media Center on Tuesday April 25. There are 2 sessions; 6:30pm – 7:30pm or 7:30 – 8:30pm. Parents and drivers (or future drivers) are invited. At this time, this program is limited to students in the Morris School District. Students must bring their school issued Chromebooks and parents must bring their own laptop or tablet. Participants will take the test, see their scores and meet with a certified driving expert afterward.
