MORRISTOWN, NJ -  Joseph Caputo of Morris Township was among the six Eagle Scouts honored by the Morris County Freeholders on Wednesday January 9. Among the honorees were Caputo of Troop 112, Josh Knowle of Parsippany Troop 72, Anthony Vrhovc of Rockaway Township Troop 160, Galen Wu of Mountain Lakes Troop 173, Michael Olsen of Rockaway Township Troop 113 and Jared Seal of Lake Hopatcong Troop 191.

The freeholders acknowledged the teens for their ambitious and community minded projects that helped them attain the ranking of Eagle Scout.  Projects included restoring a flagpole, building a patway, planting trees, constructing chairs and shelving units.

“The freeholders are privileged to celebrate the work done by these young men, who undertook positive and ambitious projects for the benefit of their respective communities,’’ said Freeholder Director Doug Cabana. “They have set an example for all of us here in Morris County, and we greatly appreciate their dedication and hard work.”

Caputo, a graduate of Morristown high School is currently a student at the Mason Gross School of Arts at Rutgers University. As a student at MHS, Caputo was involved in the music programs as well as the ensembles and marching band. For his Eagle Scout Project, Caputo built a much needed shelving unit for the school's marching band practice room. 

Each scout received county certificates acknowleging their achievement.
