MORRISTOWN, NJ – The Frelinghuysen Middle School girls basketball team won the 2020 Greater Morris County Junior Schools Conference girls basketball tournament this year. The FMS girls entered the tournament defending back-to-back county championships and were able to repeat once again.

The eighth-grade class leaves as three-peat county champions, which is a feat that will stand in GMCJSCA history. The eighth grade girls also leave FMS with a 33-game winning streak after being undefeated during both the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

“The girls’ accomplishment is a testament to their work ethic and competitive drive,” said FMS head coach Jake Cahill. “More importantly, the girls are excellent role models to their peers as student-athletes who excel in the classroom and as examples in the school community. Their coaches will miss them and wish them the best of luck at Morristown High School.”
