MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ - Back by popular demand: Friday Night Skate at Mennen Arena.
The first of a series of social events of the New Year for students in Morris County middle and high schools takes place Friday, January 5, 2018 through Friday, March 9, 2018
7:30 PM – 10 PM
This major initiative by the Morris Area Coalition for Education and Positive Choices helps provide teens with an opportunity to have fun with their friends in a safe, drug-free environment.
The Coalition is a team comprised of law enforcement agencies, educators, elected officials, scouts, organized sports, musicians, parents and businesses all working together to unite neighboring communities in the war against drugs and alcohol. Each Friday night will have a different theme with the hope of not only entertaining kids, but creating interest in new activities, hobbies and possible future career opportunities to which they might not have otherwise been exposed.
The reduced price of $7 (down from $12) will cover the cost of admission, skate rental and a full night of ice skating to the music of a DJ. There is a snack bar for those who want to indulge. However, snacks are not included in the price of admission.
“I am so proud to be part of this Coalition where we invite everyone to stand on this front line between our kids and the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse. We are asking every parent to encourage their children to take advantage of these well thought out activities”, stated Hanover Township Committeeman, Ace Gallagher. “And please watch for our news about our upcoming Master Classes.”
