SPARTA, NJ – The German Christmas Market is coming to town. The popular outdoor event that combines cultural activities, shopping and fundraising will be on the Lake Mohawk Country Club Boardwalk on Saturday, Dec 5 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday Dec 6 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The organization has made more than $159,000 in donations to various organizations around Sussex and Morris County and beyond in their 14 year history. St Nicholas will be visiting the market as well with a new fun activity according to the Christmas Market organizers. He will be located at the main entrance of the Lake Mohawk Country Club in the circle drive.
Several groups will be performing inside the St Moritz Restaurant and at Beach 1.
There will be two park and ride locations at the Sparta Middle School on Route 517 and Blue Heron Interchange off of Route 15. The free bus service begins at noon and continues until the market closes. A donation will be gratefully accepted.
The event organizers said they have expanded to accommodate 96 vendors this year and all of the vendor spaces are sold out. In addition to the vendors the market relies on donations from sponsors.
