MORRISTOWN, NJ - The Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey has received a $2,500 grant from the Rotary Club of Morristown. The Rotary Club supports organizations like Girl Scouts which allow girls to grow, thrive, and succeed while supporting projects that improve the quality of life for individuals, families and children.
The Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey (GSHNJ) provides 18,000 New Jersey girls access to leadership programs and mentors throughout New Jersey. GSHNJ has three service centers located in North Branch, Westfield, and Montclair, and operates three summer camps: Camp Hoover in Middleville, NJ, Camp DeWitt in Hillsborough, NJ, and The OVAL in Maplewood.
The grant will provide financial support for the purchase of new furniture, mainly cots for the overnight camps.
"We truly appreciate The Rotary Club of Morristown for their support and generosity,” said Natasha Hemmings, CEO of Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey. “Receiving this grant will allow us to make some necessary provisions in our camps. Our camps programs provide a perfect way to interact with nature, build lifelong friendships, and have the confidence to try new things.”
