SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — SCOTCH PLAINS – Will O’Neill’s legendary high school golf career may have concluded a few weeks ago, but the recent graduate of Morristown High is already picking up where he left off.

Shooting a 71 at the U.S. Junior Amateur Sectional Qualifier – held at Shackamaxon Country Club in Scotch Plains last Wednesday, O’Neill punched his ticket to the U.S. Junior Amateur Championships at historic Baltusrol Golf Club in the middle of next month. Baltusrol hosted the PGA Championship in both 2005 and 2016

O’Neill’s 71 put him in a tie for second place, and he qualified for the tournament by defeating recently graduated Peddie senior Armaandeep Singh in a one-hole playoff to book his ticket to Baltusrol.
