NEW JERSEY, NJ - On Wednesday, March 25, Governor Murphy signed an Executive Order requiring child care centers to close by April 1. Child care centers can stay open if they are "solely serving children of essential workers, the order read.

"While essential workers commit themselves to our New Jersey family, we will commit ourselves to protecting their families", Murphy said in his briefing.

Childcare centers need to state officials by Friday if they plan to stay open to care for essential workers.
