(MORRISTOWN, NJ – September 17, 2019)—Grow it Green Morristown is pleased to announce the addition of bilingual interpretative signs describing each of the sustainable elements at the Early Street Garden: the apiary, bike repair station, native plants, rain gardens and cisterns, solar panels, walking path, and recycled-content seating. Bilingual educational signs at the Early Street Community Garden (ESCG) in Morristown will help the public understand the various sustainable design elements incorporated into the garden and public parklet.

The addition of these signs to the community garden and public parklet will reach a broader audience and to better serve garden neighbors and the broader community. During the growing season, Grow It Green holds a Pop-up Farm Stand that alternates between the Early Street Garden and the Morristown Neighborhood House. These signs will help create an improved sense of community among gardeners and park patrons. The public is invited to visit the garden to see the new signage and learn about the parklet’s sustainable elements.

The project was funded in part with a Franklin Parker Conservation Excellence grant given by New Jersey Conservation Foundation, which provides funding for non-profit conservation organizations working in New Jersey. The grants are designed to enhance proficiency in land conservation, develop long-term viable programs, and design creative innovative projects that can serve as models for other communities and projects. We are thankful for the support of the New Jersey Conservation Foundation.
