MORRISTOWN, NJ - Recently, close to 600 potential donors have registered for "Be The Match" in order to help Morristown resident John Hyland battle Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
Hyland's cancer has returned and he is in need of a bone marrow transplant. In order to reach an ideal donor for Hyland, a second bone marrow swabbing event will take place on Jan. 30. A 'Pub Drive" will be held at The Dublin Pub, The Famished Frog, Grasshopper Off The Green, The Iron Bar and Sona 13.
Members of the community between the ages of 18 and 44 are asked to "Get Swabbed For John". There is no fee for potential donors. There are no needles involved and only involves swabbing the inside of the cheek.
Anyone 45 years of age or older can register online at bethematch.org. There is a $100 tax deductible charge for potential donors.
Don't delay....Getting swabbed may help save a life.
