MORRISTOWN, NJ – Homeless Solutions, Inc. (HSI) is proud to announce that a ten unit Drakestown Road Apartment development in Washington Township was recently certified as LEED Platinum status by the US Green Building Council. The Drakestown Road Apartment development is the first certified Platinum residential development in Morris County.
LEED Platinum is the highest LEED ranking a project can attain, and Homeless Solutions is among a handful of non-profit housing organizations to achieve this designation. According to the US Green Building Council, “LEED certified buildings save money and resources and have a positive impact on the health of occupants, while promoting renewable, clean energy.” Some of the development’s green building features include insulated concrete forms construction, solar panels to offset electric usage, Energy Star rated buildings, cement board siding, low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) paints and caulks, bamboo flooring, high efficiency toilets, faucets and showerheads and compact LED lighting.
