MORRISTOWN, NJ - – An early season baseball game between Morristown and Roxbury is always an important one on the Morris County baseball seed, as its result will completely change the complexion of the MCT bracket that will be seeded in two weeks.
It wound up being a slugfest, but Morristown’s bats were hotter on Friday.
Morristown (3-2) used back-to-back four run innings in the fifth and sixth innings to turn a two-run Gaels lead into a 13-7 Colonials victory at Harter Road. Andrew Dzikowski
– who threw three innings of scoreless ball in relief – picked up the victory on the mound.
Tate Ballestero had a monster day at the dish for Morristown, going 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, a double, and 5 RBI. David Haberman also went yard for the Colonials, as he belted a two-run shot in a 1-for-2 day at the dish.
Lucas Reidda (2-for-3), Pat Montfort (2-for-3), and (2-for-4) all had multi-hit showings for the winners.
The Colonials will host Montgomery, Saturday April 14. First pitch is slated for 3pm.
