LAKE COMO, NJ — The cast of “Jersey Shore Family Vacation,” which has just wrapped up filming its second season in Las Vegas, won’t be coming to Lake Como.
Borough officials have denied an application by 495 Productions of Burbank, Calif., which wanted to bring its cameras to Bar Anticipation in August. In fact, Bar Anticipation owner Reggie Hyde told the borough council on June 19 that he was not informed by the production company of its intention to bring the show to the sprawling entertainment establishment.
According to the rejected special events application, a representative for 495 Productions cited Bar Anticipation at 703 16th Avenue as the location for the one-day event, with a date and time to be determined.
The form also stated it would be providing its own security and noted no provisions for traffic control since “we won’t be blocking traffic or sidewalks.” It also stipulated bringing a cast/crew of about 35 people.
There was speculation that 495 Productions also applied to neighboring Belmar for a special events permit, but that could not be confirmed. Belmar Police Department oversees police operations for both Belmar and Lake Como.
MTV’s “Jersey Shore Family Vacation” is the latest follow-up show its unprecedented hit, “Jersey Shore," which aired for five seasons, including three seasons in Seaside Heights where it gained its greatest notoriety. While Seaside Heights rolled out the welcome mat to the show only once since then, other seashore towns such as Asbury Park, Point Pleasant Beach and Long Beach Island have hosted spin-offs in recent years.
