MORRISTOWN, N.J. – As TeamPAR celebrates its 14th year of holiday giving, the Morristown based company has created “14 Days of Merriment” to provide $1,400 worth of toys and gifts to the children of Jersey Battered Women’s Service (JBWS), which is a full-service domestic violence and domestic abuse prevention agency in Morris County.
Operating under the official title of Chief Merrymakers, TeamPAR has partnered with CrewNJ for the last 14 years to host the Annual Toy Drive to Support JBWS. Each year, CrewNJ requests that donations be brought to its December meeting, while TeamPAR sends its “elves” to collect any further contributions from local families and businesses.
Last year, the drive reached 371 children in 176 families, as each family in need was able to “shop” the collection of contributions and choose four to six items per child. This year’s drive – which culminated on Dec. 12 – was even more successful, thanks to TeamPAR’s extra efforts.
To mark this year’s charitable milestone, TeamPAR donated $1,400 worth of toys and gifts, with the following breakdown: 14 sets of pajamas; 13 hat and glove sets; 12 whiffle ball and bat sets; 11 nail polish gift sets; 10 packs of Adidas sport socks; nine footballs; eight basketballs; seven Wal-Mart gift cards; six soccer balls; five jumbo boxes of diapers; four ShopRite gift cards, three sets of books; two Razor scooters with helmets and one Kindle Fire.
“TeamPAR has spent $1,400 this holiday season to support JBWS and to honor our long-standing relationship with the agency, as we continue to recognize the tremendous work it does for our local community,” says TeamPAR founder and president Karen Rossilli-Kiefer. “Let’s work together to raise morale for these children affected by domestic violence and make 2015 a more hopeful year ahead. Together, we can make a difference!”
Several other New Jersey-based organizations have stepped up to join in the philanthropic effort, including the Turtle Back Zoo; Marsh & McLennan Agency; WPO, Morris County; Ivy Realty Services; Vericon Construction, Inc.; Posen Architects; Cub Scout Pack 133 of The Mendham’s; FEM Real Estate; Members & Guests of IFMA-NJ; Normandy Real Estate Partners; Mandelbaum Salsburg Attorneys at Law; NJ School of Dramatic Arts.
Anyone who wishes to contribute to the cause may donate gift cards through the end of the year. Rossilli-Kiefer can be reached at 973-292-0089 or Karen@TeamPAR.com.
