MORRISTOWN, NJ - Memorial Day weekend kicks off with a lot of opportunities for entertainment but keep in mind that Memorial Day is a time to honor the brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives to preserve our freedom

To honor those brave men and women there are several Memorial Day parades and events planned for the Morristown area.

On Saturday, Morris Plains will hold their 31 annual parade. The event begins at Roberts Gardens with a ceremony at 9am. After the ceremony, the parade will make its way to the VFW- Watnong Post 3401. The celebration will conclude with activities, music, antique cars, military vehicles and a free cookout.

On Monday, Morris Township will honor veterans during a ceremony at the Morris Township Municipal Building. The ceremony begins at 10am followed by a parade to the Green.  At 11am, a memorial service will take place on the Green.
