MORRISTOWN, NJ - Today, marks the beginning of a first full week for students in the Morris School District. Throughout the summer, new improvements to the building and grounds were completed. Students returned to new bleachers and a new press box at the turf field as well as fully renovated bathrooms in the art wing and first floor atrium.

In addition to physical improvements, Mackey Pendergrast, Superintendent of Schools, reasserted that the district continues to be committed to high academic excellence.

"Our goals are ambitious and we have an aspiring agenda in the 2017-2018 school year, including building on the success of last year's reading and writing initiative, expanding STEM and Humanities opportunities, and continuing to explore how to meaningfully infuse technology into our instruction in the healthiest and most productive manner", stated Pendergrast.
"While we prize this forward-looking agenda, the Morris School District remains committed to those traditional values that are the hallmark of successful individuals and communities: developing a disciplined work ethic, fostering strong moral character, living a balanced life and seeing one's connection and responsibilities to each other and the world. Please note the section below that outlines our focus on creating a "healthy community" in 2017-2018 and beyond", he stated.
