MORRISTOWN, NJ- Morristown defeated Morris Knolls in the Quarterfinal of the Section 1 Group 4 state playoffs by a score of 19-7 clinching them a spot in the semifinals. On this day, Morristown’s Nicole Ferrara broke the school’s assist record with 142 on her career. Casey O’Brien previously held the record with 138 assists.

Ferrara finished the game with a team high 9 points scoring 3 goals and 6 assists. Annika Begley scored a team high 7 goals and Callin Sundin scored 5 goals while assisting 2. Sarah Chupak, Logan Heher and Katie Siverson all added a goal while Ava Plott had a goal and an assist. Kara O’Brien had 7 saves in the game for Morristown.

Emily Mitarotonda led the way for Morris Knolls with 3 goals and an assist. Mackenzie Furlong had 2 goals with an assist while Tori LaBanca and Kate Wells each scored 1 time. Hailey Aber had a team high 8 saves in a losing effort.

The Morris county champs are looking to add a state title to their resume as well and they are now matched up with 2nd seeded Ridge on Monday in the Semifinals.
