BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Andrew Flores struck out the last Chatham batter to lift Morristown to a 4-3 win over Chatham on Monday night at the Somerset Patriot's balllpark.
The game was back and forth but Morristown pushed across a run in the sixth and another in the seventh to pull ahead. In the bottom of the seventh, John Kowalczyk singled to lead off for Chatham, but the pinch-runner was caught off base on a bunt play and was tagged out. Tommy Lamar then doubled to put the tying run on base before Morristown closed it out.
Joe Pucek added two singles and 2 RBI's in the effort. Aidan Watson crossed the plate twice and Tate Ballestero added one.
Caden Tierney pitched two innings for Morristown, allowing two runs and striking out two. Pat Montfort allowed one run and struck out four in his two innings of work. Andrew Flores, earned the win while striking out three.
Morristown will look to continue on Tuesday at Morris Knolls.
