MORRISTOWN, NJ -- Another day, another win.
At least, that's what it seems like for the Morristown High baseball team these days.
At Harter Road on Thursday, the Colonials downed Jefferson, 4-3, in a key independent game for county seeding purposes next Tuesday. Morristown is now out to a 5-0 start to begin the campaign.
Matt Nodoro got the scoring started for the Colonials, scoring on a Jefferson throwing error after he had stolen third base in the bottom of the first to make it 1-0.
After the visitors from the north end of the county went up 2-1 in the third, Sami Cazimoski and David Haberman each knocked in RBI singles to give Morristown the lead back, 3-2.
Down to their final three outs, the Falcons tied it up at three in their half of the 7th.
Matt Nodoro had the walk-off hit to end the game for the Maroon & White in the bottom of the 7th to score pinch runner Andrew Mandel. Mandel replaced Brennan O'Neill who reached on a Falcons mishap to lead-off the frame, on the bases.
Matt Lopez moved to 3-0 with 1 inning of relief work.
The Colonials will host Montgomery on Saturday April 16. First pitch is 11am.
