MORRISTOWN, NJ - The Morristown-Beard School community kicked off the 2016 - 2017 academic year on September 6th with Convocation & Community Day.
The day consisted of an all-school Morning Meeting, class meetings, advisor group meetings, and summer reading discussion groups.
The Convocation began with a video celebrating the 125th anniversary of Morristown-Beard School as well as the unveiling of new online publication, 125 Septembers: The Life of the Schools, an updated history of MBS by Dr. Alan Cooper and Carol Selman ’64.
In his opening remarks, Headmaster Peter J. Caldwell told the students and faculty to consider their commitment to this 125-year old community. “As we start the year, I hope that each of us seizes the opportunities that surround us, respects each other and those who came before us, and learns to show a reverence for something that is larger than ourselves,” he said.
