MORRISTOWN, NJ- Both Colonials field hockey and tennis were in action on Monday and both Morristown teams picked up victories.
The field hockey team notched their 3 rd straight win on Monday with a 4-0 win over Somerville to improve to 4-1-1 on the season. Brittany Hoftijzer led the attack by scoring 2 goals tying her for the team lead with 4 on the year. Morgan Mastracchio and Sydney Familo scored a goal apiece for Morristown. Familo, Phoebe Etzold, Olivia Graham and Indira Summerville all had assists for the Colonials. Graham continued her point streak with a point in 5 consecutive games. Colleen Shenocca had a 6 save shutout
in the win. They will look for 4 straight on Wednesday against West Morris.
The tennis team got back in the win column on Monday after sweeping Villa Walsh. Grace Starcher defeated Isabella King 6-1, 6-2 in straight sets for Morristown. Lauren Blaustein beat Alicia Costello 6-4, 6-2 and Maddie Siegel beat Mary Howley 6-2, 6-0. In doubles Isabella Galinkin and Alex Fisher beat Francesca Scola and Amanda Costello 6-2, 6-1. Abby Kuelker and Tara Goldhirsch knocked off Lillian Pinheiro and Mia Nisivoccia 7-5, 6-1. Overall the tennis team improved to 4-2 on the year and will look
to keep it going against West Morris on Tuesday.
