The Morristown girls basketball has been named the No. 3 seed for the Morris County Tournament and will receive a bye in the preliminary round.
Morris Catholic is the top seed and will be seeking its fourth straight MCT championship.
The top eight seeds are: 1-Morris Catholic (10-2). 2-Jefferson (11-1). 3-Morristown (10-1). 4-West Morris (11-2). 5-Chatham (9-5). 6-Montville (10-3). 7-Mendham (8-4). 8-Pequannock (10-2).
Morristown will play the winner of the preliminary matchup between No. 19 Kinnelon at No. 14 Parsippany Hills. The Lady Colonials will play its first-round game at home on Feb. 6.
The MCT quarterfinals for the girls will be played Feb. 13 at Morris Knolls High in Denville.
The MCT girls semifinals and final are set Feb. 19 and Feb. 26, respectively, at the County College of Morris in Randolph.
