MORRISTOWN, NJ – The top-seeded Morristown girls lacrosse team’s first Morris County Tournament test was not a very difficult entry exam.
The Colonials pasted sixteenth-seeded Jefferson (7-5) by a 21-5 count in Round of 16 action on Saturday afternoon on the Morristown turf. With the win, Evan Mager’s maroon machine improved its record to 11-2, as the season is just past its midway point. Morristown advances to play Morris Knolls, a winner over Mount Olive in the 8-9 game, in Tuesday afternoon’s quarterfinal round.
Annika Begley led the Morristown barrage with six goals and an assist, while Nicole Ferrara was next with four goals and four assists on the day.
