WAYNE, NJ – As they have many times over the years, the Morristown High swimming programs are bringing more hardware from the pool and into the trophy case.
By identical 104-66 scores, the Colonials boys and girls teams demolished Passaic Tech and Ridgewood, respectively, to capture the NJSIAA North 1, Group A titles in the Passaic Tech.
In the boys meet yesterday, Morristown (17-1) won ten of the meet’s eleven events, including finishing 1-2-3 in the 50-meter freestyle and 200-meter inter-medley races.
Owen Breslin, Justin Viotto, and Michael Macchia each won a pair of individual events for Morristown, while the winners also received an individual victory from Tommy Cromie in the 100-meter butterfly race.
The girls team—now 15-1 after their sectional title—won every event but the 100-meter backstroke. Grace Miller won each of her distance freestyle events (the 200 and 500-meter variety,) while Emily Skilton took victory in the shorter freestyle races—50 and 100 meters—to send Morristown to a comfortable win.
