MORRISTOWN – With the Morris County Tournament seeding meeting a little more than a week away, every win is huge for the basketball teams in the area.
The Morristown boys hoops squad picked up their seventh on Friday night. The Colonials took a 64-51 decision from Montville on home court, and improved to 7-2 overall on the season and 2-1 in the NJAC-United Division.
As he usually does, senior standout Kevin Hoehn led all scorers, notching 24 points on the evening. Morristown got a particularly huge contribution from its backcourt in this one, as fellow guards Ashton Pardie and Luke Haralampoudis scored 16 and 11 points, respectively.
Morristown was only ahead by a 28-27 margin at the half, but an 18-12 third quarter helped create separation down the stretch.
