SUMMIT, NJ - The Morristown girls lacrosse team were certainly not favorites as they took on perennial state and national power Summit, the #5 ranked team in New Jersey. 

And while moral victories can be hollow, Morristown held their own with the mighty Hilltoppers. Tied 4-all at the half, the winners ultimately shook off a pesky Colonials side by a 9-6 count.
Morristown's offensive machine was led by Callie Sundin, who chipped in with 2 goals and 2 assists. Sarah Grace Plott scored 2 goals while Nicole Ferrara and Victoria Ferrara each logged a goal and an assist. Annika Begley contributed with two assists on the afternoon. Shelby Cla
Amelia Drake registered 16 saves in an outstanding effort in net.
While not on the stat sheet, the efforts of defenders Linnea BegleyGrace GodfreyTara Goldhirsch and Kei Murphy kept Morristown within striking distance throughout the contest.
Morristown heads to Annandale on Monday, where they will travel to take on North Hunterdon.
