MORRISTOWN, NJ - Morristown High School junior Jacqueline Benson was among the students honored by the Mayo Performing Arts Center as Music Students of the Month for February. Students from schools based in Morristown,  Mendham, Rockaway, and Randolph were recognized for their achievement as Outstanding Orchestra Members prior to the  February 23 performance by National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine.

"Jacqueline is a dedicated member of the Morristown High School Orchestra", said Norma Davis. "She is passionate about playing the violin, and she inspires her peers through her enthusiasm and leadership. In addition to serving as section leader of the MHS Orchestra, Jackie has performed as a soloist with the orchestra, and she is a member of the select Camerata and Chamber Orchestra at school. She has performed at numerous school and community service events. Jackie has been selected as a violinist for Region Orchestra and the All-State Honors Chamber Orchestra. She is also a member of the New Jersey Youth Symphony, the NJYS Chamber Music Program, and she studies violin at Mannes Prep. Jackie hopes to pursue orchestral studies in college".

Students were nominated by their teachers based on their commitment and excellence in performing arts.
