MORRISTOWN, NJ - Morristown High School junior Clara Gong along with 10 students from area schools were honored by the Mayo Performing Arts Center as Music Students of the Month for February.  Students from schools based in Morristown, Budd Lake, Chester, Rockaway, Randolph, Jefferson Twp., Morristown, Madison, Chatham, Oak Ridge and Parsippany were honored for- Outstanding Orchestra Members. The nominees were recognized for their achievement before the February 18 performance of by the Polish Philharmonic Orchestra.

Students were nominated by their teachers based on their commitment and excellence in performing arts. 

“Clara is very passionate about music and she plays with feeling and energy in every rehearsal and concert”, wrote Norma Davis .  “In addition to the orchestra, Clara performs on the violin with the select String Ensemble at many community and school events.  She plays first violin in the Camerata chamber group at school, performs in pit orchestras and in the Delbarton Abbey Orchestra.  She is truly a wonderful student who gives so much of herself in her music and to others.
