MORRISTOWN, NJ -  Mayor Tim Dougherty released an update regarding Phase II in the Speedwell Redevelopment Area. In a written recap, the redevelopment will continue with the construction of 185 apartments, of which 15% will be affordable. Mill Creek Residential received approval for the apartments as well as 60 indoor parking spaces that will be available to the public. 

At the center of the redevelopment area, a new public park will be created which  will have an architectural appeal with sidewalk gardens, stoops, and porches.  The intersection at Spring Street and Speedwell Avenue will also be redesigned as part of the redevelopment. The Town’s traffic engineers will collaborate with NJDOT on the re-design which is set to begin in 2017.
