Morristown Onstage Announces Morristown Medical Center as Headline Sponsor

Morristown, NJ – The Morris Educational Foundation is pleased to announce that Morristown Medical Center, part of Atlantic Health System, will be the headline sponsor of its tenth annual talent show---Morristown ONSTAGE! The event will be held on March 1, 2017 at 7pm at the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown, New Jersey and is currently sold-out.

“We are proud to partner with the Morris Educational Foundation to celebrate this milestone year— Morristown Medical Center is celebrating 125 years in the community, and Morristown ONSTAGE! is celebrating ten,” said Trish O’Keefe, Ph.D., RN, President, Morristown Medical Center. “Our strong partnership educates our community’s children about the limitless career possibilities in health care, and helps to inspire them and their families to lead healthy, active lives.”

“The collaboration between Morristown Medical Center, the Morris Educational Foundation and the Morris School District is innovative and growing” said Debbie Sontupe, Executive Director of the Morris Educational Foundation.

Beyer Automotive Group and Mill Creek Residential are serving as the event’s Show Sponsors. Provident Bank will continue this year as the Prize Sponsor.  Morristown Animal Hospital will sponsor the Red Carpet Video and Bressler Amery Ross and Mark Livingston of Merrill Lynch and will sponsor the Audience Choice Award, an opportunity for the live audience to pick one of the show winners.  Another special feature of the evening will be a preview performance sponsored by The Croonquist Group of Janney Montgomery Scott of the Morristown High School Theater Department’s spring muscial, Legally Blonde.  Wiley, Malehorn, Sirota and Raynes; Nusbaum, Stein, Goldstein, Bronstein and Kron; Mark Gleckner, DMD; and Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes have all joined as Partner Sponsors.

“The Morris Educational Foundation is an integral part of the Morris School District and this fund raising event will further the Foundation’s ability to distribute financial and other resources to and for the Morris School District.  We couldn’t do what we do without the generosity of our headline sponsor, Morristown Medical Center, and our other community sponsors. We are grateful for their support,” added Kim Pistner, Chair of the Board of the Morris Educational Foundation.

There is a $1,000 cash prize for 1st place in the 19 and over age category, another $1,000 cash prize for 1st place in the 18 and under category, and a $500.00 Audience Choice winner which be selected that night via text voting in the theater.   Five distinguished judges from the arts profession will judge the competition.   This year’s Master of Ceremonies and host of the show will be Morristown-resident Tara Bernie, Emmy-nominated senior producer for NBC’s Access Hollywood and Access Hollywood LIVE. 

“The Morris Educational Foundation is very excited about our 10th anniversary production of our talent show, Morristown ONSTAGE. We are proud to give our community’s local amateur talent an opportunity to perform in front of their hometown, and in a top notch facility such as the Mayo Performing Arts Center” said Molly Servais, MEF Board Member and Chairperson of the Morristown ONSTAGE Committee.

Last year, the event raised over $90,000 for the Morris Educational Foundation.

Bullet Found at Brooklawn School Causes Lockdown - Updated
