MORRISTOWN, NJ - This weekend, the Town of Morristown has opened warming centers in response to the dropping temperatures. Due to this this weekend’s cold weather, a warming center will be open at the Morristown Fire Department, located at 161 Speedwell Avenue.  The center will open on Friday, February 3 at 6pm and close on Sunday, February 5 at 8am.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures are expected to fall into the teens on Friday night. Saturday temperatures will reach a high of 32 degrees during the day and hit a low of 20 into Sunday. 

Take precautions during these frigid temperatures. If possible, stay indoors and when venturing outside, dress appropriately. Taking preventive action is your best defense against injury caused by extreme cold weather. By preparing your home and car in advance for winter emergencies, and by observing safety precautions during times of extremely cold weather, you can reduce the risk of weather related injury and hazards.
