MORRISTOWN, NJ - Morristown High sports are ranked No. 32  in the state in the Niche 2016 Best High School Sports in New Jersey poll released Tuesday.

"We have a rich history of being competitive in all sports and a tremendous amount of support and teamwork from all stakeholders", said Morristown High School Athletic Director, Smitty Horton.

This fall, athletes at MHS captured several championshiops. The Boys Cross Country team won the Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference Championship this year, setting new school records. The Girls Soccer team was named NJAC United Division Champions for 2015.

 "Our numbers are on the rise. People realize what a great school this is and have also noticed that we are consistently putting students in high level academic institutions post-graduation", continued Horton. "That has contributed to bringing more students into our school. The more students we have, the greater our number of participants".

"Our Athletic program also has the support of the Board of Education and the Superintendent. They value the experience that Athletics can provide and believe in funding our sports programs", added Horton. "We have great coaches and trainers here. We only hire the best. ​Last, but certainly not least… We just have great kids here at Morristown that makes our program what it is."

"While it is a great honor to be ranked number 32, we will continue to get better here and improve our ranking, said Horton.
