FAIR LAWN, NJ - The Morristown High School Softball team fell to Fair Lawn 8-2 in the final round of the NJSIAA, North Jersey Section 1, Group 4 Softball Tournament. Morristown had hits from Meghan Acampora (1),  Jillian Ching (1), Molly Murphy (2), Ada Patterson (1), Sabrina Robinson (1) Molly Sibona (1), Tatum Mullins (2) and Sydney Champi (1) but it wasn't enough to gain the lead. The Cutters jumped out to an early lead, which they never relinquished. 

Freshman Molly Murphy pitched three innings giving up five hits and two runs while striking out three. 

The Morristown baseball team will begin their path to defending its sectional title on Monday afternoon at Harter Road.

Seeded fifth in the North I, Group IV playoff bracket, the Colonials will launch their state tournament against West Orange, the No. 12 seed in the section.
Should Morristown get by the Mountaineers, they would likely face fourth-seeded Clifton in the quarterfinal round next Thursday.
 
The Colonials will carry a 14-9 record into post-season action.
