SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - The Paper Mill Playhouse Broadway Show Choir is performing a one-night-only, season finale concert at the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) in South Orange, on Sunday, June 19, at 7:30 p.m.
The award-winning Paper Mill Playhouse Broadway Show Choir consists of 60 young performing artists ages 16 to 22, who are selected to participate in the choir based on auditions, and stems from Paper Mill Playhouse’s Arts Education and Outreach programs
The choir performs throughout the year at locations in New Jersey and New York, including Lincoln Center and MetLife Stadium.
This year’s Show Choir members include Christian Cortes of Morristown, as well as performers throughout New Jersey including Emma Wilcox of Cedar Knolls and Zachary Torkos and Justine Murray of Denville.
"This song and dance extravaganza will feature production numbers from your favorite Broadway shows including Newsies, West Side Story, Pippin, The Wiz, The Sound of Music, Rent, Disney’s High School Musical, Annie, Sister Act, and more," according to a release from Shayne Austin Miller, Director of Press and Public Relations for the Paper Mill Playhouse.
Miller also stated that the program will feature pop favorites by Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, OMI, Pharrell, Abba and Pentatonix.
New this year is the ensemble Voices of Paper Mill, which will be performing ‘extreme acapella’ in the style of the recent “Pitch Perfect” films.
