MORRISTOWN, NJ - The win was a group effort from Morristown Boys’ Soccer team. The excitement began with a goal from Maldonado. Oscar Garcia had the assist to bring the team to a 1-0 lead through the first half.
Morris Knolls quickly tied up the score to 1-1 at the start of the second half.
Morristown continued to play with enthusiasm as well as a team, which led to their second goal.
Maldanado kicked a ball that ricocheted off the metal of the goal and Wyss was there to aggressively score off the rebound, bringing the score 2-1 in favor of Morristown.
Ryan Mehlin passed the ball across the middle for Matzuk’s to score and bring Morristown’s lead to 3-1. Morris Knolls was unable to tie the score. Morristown will now advance to the State finals.
The next game is Thursday at Passaic Tech.
