BEDMINSTER, NJ – Homeless Solutions, Inc. hosted its 9th Annual Women’s Day on Tuesday, October 4.  Board Member Sally Muscarella of Morristown as well as Morristown residents Janine Chilson, Kris Sturno, Pat Kukulski and Kim Doyle joined over 200 women at the sold out event. The event gives support to the organization and its goal of raising funds for childcare for their shelter and transitional housing guests. The attendees participated in a morning exercise, Bootcamp, Pilates, Power Walk, 5k Run, Yoga, or Pound workout.  After the exercise portion of the day, the ladies enjoyed a ticket auction, spa services, and a gourmet lunch. The highlight of the event was a guest speaker, who shared her very inspiring story of her journey through HSI’s Family Shelter Program and Transitional Housing Program.

“We’re honored that this group of committed, philanthropic women make time to join us for this very special event", commented Stephanie Cicale, Chief Development Officer of Homeless Solutions, Inc.   "It’s a day filled with energy, fun, and a focus on helping those in need in our community.”

This year the funding need was particularly critical because funding for childcare subsidies will no longer be available.  Many families participating in Homeless Solutions programs are headed by single women, and most are survivors of domestic violence.  For these families, childcare is critical to ensuring that the head of the household can work, save money, and return to independent living.
