MORRISTOWN – Despite heavy graduation losses after last season, the Morristown High School boys basketball team overachieved its way to an 11-14 campaign and its fifth trip to the Morris County Tournament semifinals in six years this past.
No one had a bigger hand in doing that than senior captain Steve Leung, and he was recognized for it.
In a loaded NJAC-United Division – one that included Group 3 finalist Chatham – Leung was recently named as a first team all-conference selection. The lone holdover from the previous year’s rotation, Leung averaged 11.8 points per game in his senior year as the team’s featured player.
Steve Bergeman, a junior forward that figures to take the scoring mantle for Bill Connolly’s squad next winter, was named to the league’s second team.
Fellow junior Timmy Ganning, the Colonials’ three-point specialist, was also recognized as an honorable mention nominee.
