MORRISTOWN, NJ - On Monday night Unity Charter School held their second annual honor society inductions.  Students were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) and the National Junior Art Honor Society (NJAHS).  The National Junior Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle school students. It is an organization that serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. The National Junior Art Honor Society’s chapter is a program to inspire and recognize students who have shown an outstanding ability and interest in art.

The evening was organized and led by the student-run executive board of the NJHS.  They introduced families and inductees to the five pillars of excellence.   Eighth-grader Benjamin Heineman, the executive board president, set forth a vision of community service and academic excellence, which everyone embraced.

Lindsey Daly, NJHS advisor said, "It's been wonderful to see students from all walks of life coming together to work toward a common goal, which is to serve and improve their community while excelling academically.  This diverse group of students takes great pride in being selected to represent the five pillars of excellence. The best part, for me, has been watching the effect that membership in our chapter has had on their confidence. I am proud of their hard work so far, and I know with our newest inductees, it will only keep getting better from here."
