The Rev. Beau D. Nelson will be installed as the new pastor of Saint Mark Lutheran Church at 100 Harter Road, Morristown on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 3:00pm. Pastor Nelson will also be installed as pastor at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Florham Park that same day at 5:00pm. The Rev. Tracie Bartholomew, bishop of the New Jersey Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America will be presiding at these services.
Pastor Nelson was called to serve these two congregations on Sunday, March 31, 2019. He had been serving as a pastor at Bethany Lutheran Church in Jersey City and as chaplain at Lutheran Senior LIFE of Jersey City. He and his wife Alexis moved into Saint Mark's parsonage in Morristown in April.
These two congregations were previously served by their own pastors, and so they are entering into a new era as they learn what it means to share a pastor. On Sunday mornings Pastor Nelson preaches and leads worship first at Saint Mark at 9:15am, and then immediately goes over to Good Shepherd for their 11:00am service.
In his six months so far, Pastor Nelson has brought renewed energy to Saint Mark and Good Shepherd through his dynamic preaching and engaging leadership.
The community is welcome to attend either of Pastor Nelson's installation services on Saturday or join us any Sunday for service.
