The Jets announced more player transactions as they prepare for the opening game in 3 days.The Jets have acquired 4 players via waivers; Braedon Bowman, TE from JAX, Brian Parker, TE from KC, Darryl Roberts, CB from NE, and Troymaine Pope, RB from SEA.
When Head Coach Todd Bowles was asked about General Manager Maccagnan claiming four players and the process associated with that decision, he replied, "I look at films as well, then we talk about it, and we make a decision."
The Jets also waived an injured Khiry Robinson, RB, who suffered a broken leg. Bowles was asked about Robinson's injury after the 4th preseason game and he said, "(I) didn't know about it until the next day." Khiry was supposed to be on the final roster.
Practice has continued all week and Bowles was asked about the condition of several key players. On who didn't practice and who was limited, Bowles replied, "Everybody practiced for the most part." Look for a full injury report to come out in the middle of this week.
When questioned September 5th about his level of optimism regarding Davis Harris' injury status, Bowles remarked, "Not yet. I've got to see him hit somebody. It's still early in the week."
On Brandon Marshall's injury status, "Yes, Brandon's fine" the head coach reported. He also said that Quincy Enunwa's recovery is coming along fine.
Bowles took a question regarding the Bryce Petty shoulder injury from last week's game and he clarified, "He just had a bruise. It's a matter of him getting healthier and getting back up." Jets will have the 3rd backup quarterback ready in a week or two.
The Jets are now down to the required 53 players on the roster as Bowles was quoted as saying last week "it's not the best 53, it's the right 53." The New York Jets will be in action at MetLife Stadium Sunday, September 11 @1 o'clock.
